NÔS is a short animated film that brings images of our dysfunctional reality to the surface—like in a dream. Shots in black, white and gray reverberate through the haze of our collective memory. What remains is a person lying on the ground, growing symbiotically with a tree. NÔS is a sad lament about war and flight, loneliness and death.
NELSON FERNANDES (b. 1979 in Marvão, Portugal)—a.k.a. Zina Caramelo—is an award-winning artist. Since 2000, he has developed his work in the form of video, animated film, photography, painting and illustration.
